Many of the members of the Department of Medicine actively engage in clinical research. The majority of HRC-based medical research is conducted under the auspices of the Institute for Aging Research. Some research, such as work in the area of medical education and medical ethics, is carried out directly within the Department of Medicine or in collaboration with other institutions such as Harvard Medical School.
The research interests of department members include cost-effectiveness analysis, delirium, dementia, exercise, falls, medical education, medical ethics, osteoporosis, palliative care, and tube feeding.
