Barbara Rissman, Executive Director
Barbara has been in the assisted living field for over 20 years. Prior to launching the assisted living community at NewBridge on the Charles, she served as the executive director of a dementia-specific assisted living community in Boston. Her previous experience included working in other assisted living settings as well as 14 years in the hotel industry. She is devoted to offering the highest quality of care for all residents of assisted living and memory care assisted living at NewBridge on the Charles.

Paul Vierling, RN, Director of Nursing
As director of nursing, Paul oversees the nurses and certified nursing assistants who work to ensure the wellness of assisted living and memory care assisted living residents.  Previously, Paul served Hebrew SeniorLife in nursing and nursing management roles for over 25 years, most recently as a nursing operations manager for long-term care at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Boston. He brings decades of geriatric nursing experience, in both memory care and traditional settings, as well as expertise in staff development and training.

Ellie Belanger, Assisted Living Advisor
As our Assisted Living Advisor, Ellie helps prospective residents and families explore the assisted living and memory care assisted living options at NewBridge on the Charles. Ellie brings a warm and caring nature along with extensive experience in senior living, financial planning and training to this role. After growing up and launching her career in Greater Boston, Ellie spent 15 years in San Diego. Recently, Ellie returned to the East Coast and worked most recently at another assisted living community in the Brookline area.

Larisa Levich, Director of Programs, Assisted Living & Independent Living
Larisa creates sophisticated programs, events and social experiences for assisted living and independent living residents of the NewBridge campus. Larisa brings over 20 years of experience in developing and coordinating cultural programs to this position, and has been with NewBridge since it opened. Previously, Larisa worked in another assisted living community for six years. Her passion for improving the residents' quality of life was recognized in 2007 when she was named "Employee of the Year."  Originally from Kiev, Ukraine, Larisa holds a Master's Degree from the National Academy of Fine Arts in History of Fine Arts.

Karen Stevens, Program Manager, Memory Care Assisted Living
Karen is the program manager for Memory Care Assisted Living at NewBridge on the Charles, overseeing our residential and day programs. Previously, Karen served as a nurse in another assisted living community in Chestnut Hill, MA as well as at NewBridge on the Charles as a per diem nurse for many years. She completed a nursing internship at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale.

Pauline Webley, Memory Support Coordinator, Memory Care Assisted Living
With nearly 20 years of experience in the field of Alzheimer’s and dementia care, Pauline coordinates memory care programming, staffing and provides administrative support. Pauline brings the experience of a veteran professional caregiver to this role, having worked in four assisted living communities before joining NewBridge on the Charles when it opened.

Lisa Lee, Sales Counselor, Assisted Living & Independent Living
Lisa Lee has been part of the NewBridge on the Charles sales and marketing team since 2008. Lisa’s extensive knowledge of both assisted living and independent living at NewBridge provides assistance in both understanding and determining where a potential resident will be most successful living in their life at NewBridge. Prior to Hebrew SeniorLife, Lisa was the marketing director for an IT services company.

Barbara Mouchayleh, Business Office Coordinator
Barbara brings decades of assisted living experience to this role as well as continuing education over the years in the areas of finance and management. Perhaps most importantly, she brings extensive knowledge of campus operations and each member of our community, having run the operations and business of our MeadowView restaurant and memory support kitchens for the five years after NewBridge opened.

Nancy Sullivan, Move-in Administrator
An energetic member of the original NewBridge start up team, Nancy manages the operational and logistical aspects of every move to assisted living and independent living residences at NewBridge on the Charles. She is credited with establishing our campus’s partnership with two nonprofits -- the Massachusetts Coalition for Homeless and Action for Post Soviet Jewry – to help downsizing seniors donate extra furniture and clothing to others in need. 

Tara Fleming Caruso, MA, LMHC , Collaborative Care Advisor
Tara serves as the collaborative care advisor for the NewBridge campus, making her an important resource for each of our residents and their families. Tara helps each senior moving to NewBridge both understand and access the variety of supports our continuum of care offers so each can live their best life possible. Tara brings almost 25 years of elder care experience to this role, including developing an expressive therapy program in a skilled nursing facility, serving as a program manager at a dementia-specific assisted living, and working at NewBridge on the Charles since 2009. She is a licensed mental health counselor and holds a Masters Degree in Expressive Arts Therapies from Lesley University.
