Where is Dedham?  How close it is to Boston?
We are conveniently located on Rt. 135, just off Rotue 128, two miles from Needham Center and two exits south of the Needham St. exit for Needham/Newton Highlands.  We are convenient to Rt. 109, Chestnut Hill, and Legacy Place in Dedham.  Dedham is only seven miles from Boston.

Is NewBridge on the Charles only for Jewish people?
Absolutely not.  Although, NewBridge on the Charles is sponsored by Hebrew SeniorLife, it is a non-sectarian organization that welcomes seniors of all religions, races, and ethnic backgrounds.

How do I pay for NewBridge?
You pay an Entrance Fee that is based on square footage and location of your new home.  The Entrance Fee you pay is 90% refundable once you leave the NewBridge campus. You pay a Monthly Fee, based on square footage. It includes  most utilities, maintenance, dining credits, programs, fitness center, movie theatre and more.

Do I own my unit?
No, you are purchasing a membership in NewBridge on the Charles. The benefit is when you vacate you do not have to worry about selling it. Also you pay renter instead of owner insurance.  Any property taxes paid by the organization are included in your monthly fee.

What types of homes are there?
In Independent Living we have three types of homes:  cottages, villas and apartments.  Cottages are private homes, grouped in clusters of 2, 4 or 6.  Most are on one level, but we also offer them with finished lower levels or lofts.  Villas are large apartments in small buildings.  All are corner units so they are light and bright.  Apartments range from one bedroom to two bedroom with den, ranging in size from 825 to 2,003 square feet.

I'm not sure I can afford NewBridge...how will I know?
We qualify you financially to ensure you can afford NewBridge.  Our guideline is that you must have assets worth two times the Entrance Fee of the unit you select. These non-liquid assets include your home, investments, etc.

What happens if I need help?
On the NewBridge campus, we offer many health care services.  In addition to independent living, there is home care, assisted living, assisted living with memory support, rehabilitation services, long term care, and outpatient services including a geriatric medical practice.  We will provide the help that is necessary to keep you independent and safe for as long as possible.
