Skilled Nursing Care

Orchard Cove's Skilled Nursing Care Center provides comprehensive long-term care as well as short-term recuperative services, to help residents regain optimal levels of recovery and independence following hospital stays.

The center is supported by the acclaimed professional services of Hebrew SeniorLife, a leader in senior care. Board-certified, Harvard Medical School-affiliated geriatricians and geriatric nurse practitioners direct each patient's care. The center is affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Our model of care combines an unparalleled medical and rehabilitative team with a soothing environment that provides warm and inviting areas, plenty of natural light, and all the comforts and amenities of home.

Our interdisciplinary team of geriatricians, physicians, geriatric nurse practitioners, rehabilitation specialists, social workers, and certified nurse assistants are passionate about their work and committed to the well-being of patients and their families. Emily Mabia is the Unit Secretary on the Skilled Nursing Unit and has been employed by Orchard Cove for over 11 years. A native of Kenya, she was originally hired as a certified nursing assistant CNA-a job she adored as a result of the wonderful relationships she built with the residents. Four years ago, Emily was promoted to Unit Secretary. In this role, she is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day responsibilities of the unit, supporting the various disciplines, attending to patients' needs, and greeting families and visitors.
