Rabbi Sara Paasche-Orlow
Rabbi Sara Paasche-Orlow was selected in August of 2008 as one of five finalists for the Kenneth B. Scwhartz Center's "Compassionate Caregiver" award, which honors Massachusetts caregivers who display extraordinary compassion in caring for patients and their families. Chosen among 120 applicants, Rabbi Sara was cited for the work she has done in building HSL's chaplaincy program. The Schwartz Center, which sponsors the Schwartz Center Grand Rounds, conducts pioneering programs to educate, train and support caregivers in the art of compassionate health care.
Rabbi Sara Paasche-Orlow is the director of Chaplaincy and Religious Services for Hebrew SeniorLife. In this position, she established the nation's only Jewish geriatric clinical pastoral education (CPE) program accredited by ACPE, Inc. and has placed chaplains and CPE students throughout the HSL system. She was ordained in the Conservative Movement at the Jewish Theological Seminary and has focused her work on serving Jews of all backgrounds and denominations.
