Institutional Review Board (IRB)

The Hebrew SeniorLife (HSL) Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews research projects and activities that involve human participants conducted at HSL (including its affiliated housing sites) and by HSL researchers at other sites. The HSL IRB provides oversight and assurance of the protection, rights and welfare of research participants in compliance with the Department of Health and Human Services regulations at 45 CFR 46 and it subparts, the Federal Drug Administration regulations at 21 CFR parts 50 and 56, its own institutional policies, and accepted ethical guidelines.

  2. Select the appropriate form(s)
  3. Download and complete form(s) (no hand-written forms will be accepted)
  4. Sign the forms

Required Training

Please follow the log-in instructions on the CITI homepage. When the registration requests the trainee's participating institution, HSL personnel should choose 'Hebrew SeniorLife.' If trainees have multiple appointments across institutions, trainees may choose to link their training to those other institution(s) at the appropriate prompt. There are several different training course options; trainees should choose the course option most appropriate to their research.
