Spiritual Care at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center (HRC) is dedicated to helping enrich the spiritual lives of all our residents and patients, and their families, and support people during good and bad times.  This might mean working together to make each day have meaning, draw spiritual strength from identifying and expressing deeply held values,  help affirm one’s legacy in the face of terminal illness,  face fears and sadness about aging and loss, or  simply enjoy companionship.  Staffed by experienced interfaith chaplains and rabbis, our team offers specialty skills that include: Russian language, American sign language, Hebrew language, music, spiritual care with persons with dementia, and palliative care and hospice chaplaincy.  In addition, two spiritual care therapy dogs provide canine companionship and love alongside our chaplains.

Hebrew Rehabilitation Center has an accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program. Over the course of each year, twenty CPE students work with our residents and patients throughout HRC.  Students bring 4000 hours of spiritual care to the residents and patients as they grow in their chaplaincy skills.

Religious life opportunities are also available to all.  These include:

  • Weekly Shabbat services on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings
  • Jewish holiday programs and services
  • Christian holiday programs and services
  • Monthly Christian service
  • Weekly visits by Roman Catholic Eucharist Ministers

We encourage you to introduce yourself to the chaplain assigned to your floor, unit or household.
