Leora Borek, M.D. Joins Hebrew Rehabilitation Center Dept. of Medicine

BOSTON - Harvard Medical School affiliate Hebrew SeniorLife (HSL), a nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of older adults, today announced Leora Borek, M.D. has joined Hebrew Rehabilitation Center’s Department of Medicine. Dr. Borek joins the organization as Director of Psychiatry at HSL’s NewBridge on the Charles in Dedham. Dr. Borek will be providing evaluation and ongoing psychiatric treatment to patients in the outpatient, post-acute care, and long-term care hospital settings at NewBridge.

Dr. Borek completed her psychiatry residency at the Harvard South Shore Psychiatry Residency Training Program and her fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at Brown University, where she extended her fellowship training to include a year of research conducting clinical studies on psychiatric conditions in patients with Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Borek was Medical Director of the Enhanced Outpatient Program at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass. and most recently was a geriatric and neuropsychiatric consultant to nursing facilities.
“Dr. Borek’s compassion for our aging population is evident when you meet her,” said Eran Metzger M.D., Medical Director of Psychiatry at HSL. “Combined with her strong experience in geriatric psychiatry, it was easy to see she’d be a great addition to our team.”
