Biography

Rachel Whitehouse is the chief communications and planning officer at Hebrew SeniorLife in Boston, Mass. She is an accomplished executive with a demonstrated history of leading integrated communications strategies for nonprofit organizations as well as multimillion dollar corporations. At HSL, her role is to conduct organizational strategic and annual planning, and to define marketing and communications strategies to achieve brand reputation, employee engagement, and occupancy and census goals at the largest nonprofit senior care organization in New England.

Rachel joined HSL in 2009 and with more than 30 years of experience, she has led numerous programs to advance brand awareness, business development, and corporate reputation. She has considerable experience with companies going through crisis or significant change, and is an expert in strategic and annual planning for nonprofit organizations. Additionally, she has in-depth experience with donor communications strategies. Prior to HSL, Rachel was vice president of communications and public relations at the Joslin Diabetes Center and previously had an extensive career in domestic and international public relations agency management and client service.
