Babacar Diop, Director of Care Excellence

Babacar Diop oversees the skilled nursing and enhanced living communities at Orchard Cove. He drives quality and endorses changes to ensure care delivered at Orchard Cove is resident-directed and aligned with what matters most to each resident. He also leads the quality, safety, and emergency preparedness initiatives throughout our entire community. Babacar has been part of our senior staff team for almost seven years, serving most recently as our director of clinical laboratory and adiology services. His portfolio includes acute care, public health, and geriatric management. He is well versed in the clinical, fiscal and regulatory arenas and brings a background in clinical science. Babacar earned his MBA in Healthcare Management from Texas A&M University. He is committed to building sustainable communities where residents’ experience and clinical outcomes are enriched.

Emily Mabia, Life Enrichment Manager/Vitalize360 Coach

Emily Mabia is responsible for the daily operations on the Enhanced Living Community as well as helping each resident while maximize their quality of life every day. As the Enhanced Living Vitalize360 coach, Emily spends most of her day with residents, often asking them the guiding question: “What matters most to you?” Her role includes educating staff and families about Vitalize360, our comprehensive wellness and exercise program to promote healthy aging. Emily views Vitalize360 as a platform for life, empowering each resident to achieve their goals and make lifestyle changes that not only lead to improved health but also a richer quality of life. Emily has been working at Orchard Cove for almost 20 years, having started here as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
