Center Communities of Brookline has everything seniors need to enjoy an active, fit and healthy life. Hebrew SeniorLife has been a longtime champion of exercise for older adults. In the early 1990s, researchers at our Hinda and Arthur Marcus Institute for Aging Research discovered the benefits of weight training for even the oldest seniors.

Research shows that regular exercise improves overall conditioning and helps prevent chronic diseases—in fact, physical exercise benefits seniors more than any other group, promoting sleep, strength, cardiovascular health, and an enhanced sense of well-being.

Our Vitalize360 personalized wellness program takes a complete view of your wellness and well-being, including health, nutrition, physical and mental fitness, community links, lifelong learning, and spirituality. Your Vitalize360 personal wellness coach will work with you to set goals and make a plan to help you accomplish them.

Our state-of-the-art fitness centers offer supervised exercise programs for residents:

  • Comprehensive physical evaluations by experienced exercise professionals 
  • Progressive strength training 
  • Flexibility training 
  • Cardiovascular training 
  • Group exercise classes

Fitness classes are offered six days a week including: tai chi, yoga, muscle building, functional fitness, zumba, Wii fitness, and stretching.  Supervised exercise is provided seven days a week.  All exercise programs are conducted in a warm, friendly environment and are geared to meet the special needs of older adults.
