Courtney Millar

Assistant Scientist I at the Marcus Institute for Aging Research, Hebrew SeniorLife

Dr. Millar completed her doctoral degree at the University of Connecticut, where she focused on delineating the mechanistic effects of bioactive compounds from three different Kingdoms (Plantae, Animalia, Eubacteria) on the progression of atherosclerosis in genetically modified mouse models. She is currently a T32 postdoctoral research fellow at the Hinda and Arthur Marcus Institute for Aging Research. Although most of her work was in pre-clinical models, Dr. Millar is now transitioning to both clinical and epidemiological research in order to conduct translational research in the future. She is particularly interested in the importance and interrelatedness of nutrition, exercise, and mental health for healthy aging.
