Susan Evensen Tena (she/her), MSW, LICSW, joined Hebrew SeniorLife in 2025 as program director of the Center for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and Neglect. Prior to that, she worked for over 20 years in Massachusetts’ Aging Services Access Point system, holding roles ranging from case management to program direction and development. There, she learned from her clients what aging is, and can be.
Sue obtained her MSW from Salem State University and has enjoyed teaching and supervising BSW and MSW students from Boston-area colleges and universities. Her area of social work practice has always been focused on older adults — planning to become one herself, Sue finds meaning in supporting older adults to achieve their best sense of well-being, whatever that means to them.
