Biography
As executive director for NewBridge on the Charles, Matthew Hollingshead is responsible for creating and maintaining an exceptional living environment for independent living residents. He oversees activities, programming, services provided in the community center, food and beverage operations, and the physical maintenance of the campus.
Matt originally joined Hebrew SeniorLife in 2016 as executive director of Assisted Living at NewBridge on the Charles. Under his leadership the NewBridge on the Charles memory care program became locally renowned for its robust use of expressive therapies for care and support. He also helped oversee and support operations across the broader NewBridge on the Charles campus, including the community life, culinary, housekeeping, security, and maintenance teams.
From 2021 - 2022 Matt served in a business development role, working to increase Hebrew SeniorLife’s ability to help seniors live their best lives in the best place while seeking opportunities for business growth.
Previously, Matt held a series of leadership positions at another continuing care retirement community in Massachusetts. As a licensed nursing home administrator, his roles included oversight of long-term care, short-term rehabilitation, home health services, memory care, and facility operations.
Matt also is part of the faculty for Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration Master of Management in Hospitality Senior Living concentration. Matt sits on the board of directors of the Massachusetts Assisted Living Association, and is a trustee of Leading Age Massachusetts.
