Your Guide to Applying

Residency is open to all age- and income-qualified persons in accordance with the Fair Housing Act, which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, sexual orientation or gender identity, national origin, disability, and familial status.

Because the Simon C. Fireman Community is a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) subsidized supportive housing, anyone wishing to apply must complete the required paperwork and meet specific requirements.

Application Information

Applicants will be considered on a first-received, first-reviewed basis. This is based on the date that the completed and signed application is received by the Simon C. Fireman Community management.

As part of the application process, you will be required to provide for all household members:

  • A copy of your current Social Security Monthly benefit letter, pension, and/or monthly annuity payments.
  • Documentation of assets (bank statements, 401(k), stocks and bonds, etc.)
  • The last four copies of your paycheck, if you are still working.

All applicants must pass a criminal background check and credit check.

You can mail, fax, or drop off your application in-person.

If you appear to qualify after we review your application, but before your information is formally verified, and a unit is not currently available, you will be placed on the waiting list. You will be informed of the approximate wait for a unit and/or position on the waiting list, and notified by mail when your name comes to the top of the list.
