Fernanda M. C. Ninin, MD, is a geriatrician passionate about providing person-centered care and improving the quality of care for older adults. She graduated from the University of São Paulo Medical School (FMUSP) in Brazil and completed her internal medicine residency at Jacobi Medical Center in New York, followed by geriatric medicine fellowship training through the Harvard Medical School Multicampus Geriatric Medicine Fellowship.
She then joined Hebrew SeniorLife for an additional year of advanced training in quality improvement in long-term care, focusing on age-friendly care and understanding what matters most to older adults. After completing her training, Dr. Ninin joined WVU Medicine at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in West Virginia, where she cares for older adults in an underserved population.
Her professional interests center on improving the quality of care for older adults while recognizing each patient as a whole person: their values, priorities, experiences, and lives beyond their medical conditions. Outside of medicine, she is an avid reader and enjoys staying active and exercising.
