Helen Chen, M.D., served as Hebrew SeniorLife's chief medical officer from 2013-2022. As a geriatrician, Dr. Chen has a passion for improving care for older adults both at the individual and healthcare system levels. Prior to joining Hebrew SeniorLife, Dr. Chen was the chief medical officer for the Center for Elders’ Independence, a Program of All-Inclusive Care for Elders, and the director of Geriatrics and Extended Care at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, where she directed clinical geriatrics services across the continuum of care for Veterans residing in northern California.
