Hebrew SeniorLife, a national nonprofit leader in senior living and health care services for older adults, recently launched the Lunder CareForce Institute to build on our long history of education and training in health care. The Lunder CareForce Institute is dedicated to helping compassionate, hard-working people move into frontline health care jobs and start meaningful careers that can change their lives.

Nurse Aide Training Program

We are currently accepting applications for our 5-week nurse aide training program beginning in October 2025. This program will prepare you for patient care roles at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center by becoming a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA). This full-time, hands-on training focuses on building the skills, confidence, and compassion you’ll need to thrive in real-world health care settings. No prior health care experience is required, and there is no tuition cost to students. Lunder CareForce Institute’s Nurse Aide Training Program is approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Approval #NNBC.

Certified Nurse Aides in Massachusetts make between $18 and $23 per hour to start. Experienced CNAs can earn up to $27 per hour.

What You Get and How We Are Different

  • Training from experienced teachers and a state-approved curriculum: You’ll learn in the classroom, get practice with simulations, and gain hands-on experience at the bedside. Lessons will include things like nutrition, movement and exercise, how to take vital signs, and oral health.
  • Preparation for a state exam: We will prepare you for a test that will list you on the Massachusetts Health and Human Services Licensed Professionals Registry as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).
  • Get a job right away if you pass: If you pass the test after attending our October program, you will be hired immediately for a patient care job at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center-Boston in Roslindale or Hebrew Rehabilitation Center-NewBridge in Dedham. In the future, we will partner with additional employers.
  • Continued help after you start working: We stay with you after you pass the exam to coach you to succeed on the job. Lunder CareForce Institute mentors will support you throughout your employment to help you succeed and grow.

What Does a Certified Nurse Aide at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center Do?

At Hebrew Rehabilitation Center, you will provide hands-on care to older adult patients in both short-term rehab and long-term chronic care floors to support their quality of life. This includes helping them maintain dignity and comfort while you support their basic daily routines with bathing, dressing, meal prep, and room tidying help. You’ll check vital signs—things like temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate—document what you observe, and report any changes in health to the nursing team.

Certified Nurse Aides at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center often go on to nursing careers. Hebrew SeniorLife offers employee scholarships and has a culture of promoting from within.
