Hebrew Rehabilitation Center Wins 2025 AHCA/NCAL Bronze National Quality Award
National award signifies a formal commitment to continuous improvement in quality care.
Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Boston and Hebrew Rehabilitation Center at NewBridge in the Charles in Dedham have been recognized as 2025 recipients of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The award is conferred on organizations committed to improving the lives of their residents through quality care.
In recent months, Hebrew SeniorLife communities were rated “Best” for 2025 by U.S. News & World Report. Its outpatient primary care clinics and the Deanna and Sidney Wolk Center for Memory Health were recognized as Age-Friendly Health Systems – Committed to Care Excellence by The Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
The Bronze Award is part of the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, a rigorous three-level process reviewed and evaluated by trained experts based on a nationally recognized set of standards for organizational excellence. The standards of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program help organizations achieve superior performance over time to improve the quality of life and care of long-term care patients.
The first step on the quality improvement journey, Bronze recipients can move forward to the Silver – Achievement in Quality award criteria.
“Receiving the AHCA’s Bronze Award is a significant and meaningful recognition because you have to meet a detailed and rigorous series of criteria. The application involved an extensive organizational assessment, including the work we do, our mission, values, culture, our external relationships, and our performance improvement system. It also required the demonstration of a quality improvement project that met the AHCA’s criteria and yielded improved clinical outcomes,” said LuAnn Fitzgerald, PT, JD, LNHA, senior director of quality, safety, and regulatory affairs at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center. “The credit for this achievement goes to the dedication and professionalism of our staff and caregivers.”
The National Quality Awards will be presented during Delivering Solutions 25, the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo, on October 19-22, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The 2025 National Quality Award Program is sponsored by AHCA/NCAL Associate Business Members: HealthCap, McKesson, Rosie, Incite Workforce Solutions powered by SnapCare, and Prevail by First Quality.
