Nevo’s dedication stood out as an exemplary model of compassionate care.
The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare has honored Hebrew SeniorLife’s Rabbi Lior Nevo with an Honorable Mention for the prestigious 2026 Schwartz Compassionate Caregiver Award.
The annual award shines a spotlight on health care professionals who display extraordinary empathy, unwavering support, and exceptional care for patients and their families. Out of a highly competitive pool of poignant nominations from across the health care community, Nevo’s dedication stood out as an exemplary model of compassionate care, according to the center.
"The many poignant nominations we received remind us that compassionate care is thriving," said Olivia Gebski, community experience manager at the Schwartz Center. “They exemplify what compassionate care is all about by demonstrating extraordinary empathy and support for patients and their families. We are deeply honored and privileged to learn of the wonderful work Lior does.”
Nevo earned a bachelor’s degree in Bible and Jewish thought from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and received her master’s degree in pluralistic Jewish education through a joint program of Hebrew University and Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion. She was ordained as a rabbi in 2015 at HUC-JIR in Jerusalem. She performed all of her chaplaincy training at Hebrew SeniorLife’s Clinical Pastoral Education program.
